Does your company wish to validate a proof of concept by creating a product prototype? Entrust the study and implementation of your project to our engineering students specializing in microelectronics and computer science.

Mines Saint-Étienne offers you the opportunity to benefit from the technical expertise of its engineering students. Respond to the call for projects for the 2022 academic year. (Submit your industrial project at the bottom of the page).

What is the industrial project?

The industrial project aims to design and develop a concrete solution in response to an industrial client’s needs. It allows students to gain real-world experience as design engineers.

Your request will be handled by a group of students (3 to 6) within a high-quality scientific and technical framework supervised by a professor-researcher from the Centre of Microelectronics in Provence.

During their second year of training, ISMIN students (Engineering Specialty in Microelectronics and Computer Science) are entrusted with leading the project. Working as a micro-design office, our students will support you in creating a prototype for one of your future products in the campus’s areas of expertise: IoT, energy management and harvesting, medical devices, AI, embedded software, mobile applications, security, etc.

How is the project conducted?

This educational activity is the common thread of the academic year. It aims to implement the managerial and technical skills acquired by students during the core curriculum:

  • In the first semester, the project team takes ownership of the client’s requirements, refines them, conducts a preliminary study, and focuses on proposing a technical solution before drafting a collaboration agreement. They are supported by courses in management, industrial law, and project management.
  • In the second semester, following a detailed study phase in February, students work full-time on the project’s implementation, with regular progress meetings followed by an acceptance report in June.

Over 400 hours scheduled for the team of 3 to 6 engineering students and a significant investment outside of class hours for a financial contribution from the company of €3,000 net of all taxes.

You can now respond to the call for projects via this online form (by August 31, 2022).

A steering committee will verify the feasibility of your request within this educational framework in early September. Projects are then assigned to the students.
