Last month, Mines Saint-Etienne took part in European Cybersecurity Month. This initiative raised awareness of cyber threats and the best practices to protect against them. On this occasion, the School institutionalized the use of two-factor authentication, a reinforced authentication solution to better protect our services’ data. Today, more than 500 staff members use it.

Since then, Mines Saint-Etienne has been awarded the “Responsible Digital” label. This label recognizes institutions committed to reducing the social, economic, and environmental footprint of their digital usage.

To continue this initiative, on December 1st, the School will host the company Ovide for a cybersecurity awareness half-day.

Objectives:

  • identify the different types of threats related to daily digital usage
  • recognize the signs of a data leak or a phishing attempt
  • understand how simple actions can compromise a company’s security
  • understand, through the investigation, the role of the human factor in cybersecurity.

From 9 AM to 2 PM, join us at Les Cabanes to discover how small mistakes can compromise an organization’s security. Ovide invites you to experience a cyberattack in the heart of a museum and even take on the role of the hacker attacking the site.

Staff and students, we look forward to seeing many of you there!
