8 projects were recognized at the 2019 Awards of the Secure Communicating Solutions Competitiveness Cluster, including “Cyborg lens: the first autonomous contact lens,” a project led by researchers from Mines Saint-Étienne and IMT Atlantique.

The SCS Cluster, a key player in AI and Industry 4.0, honored regional industrial and academic gems by awarding 8 awards as part of its Business Meetings 2019 on December 4: startups, SMEs and research stakeholders were recognized during the ceremony.

Congratulations to all the winners and to Mines Saint-Étienne, awarded the first prize for applied research!

A partnership that achieved a world first: the team of Thierry Djenizian, head of the Flexible Electronics department at the Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering center, and Jean-Louis de Bougrenet, head of the Optics department at IMT Atlantique, developed an autonomous contact lens integrating a flexible micro-battery: the cyborg lens.
