As part of the closing of the “Climate, Environment and Sustainable Development” core curriculum, students in the Ingénieur Civil des Mines program attended a screening of the film Bigger Than Us. Following the screening, students engaged in discussion with Dorothée Martin, the film’s first assistant director. A very interesting discussion that allowed students to ask questions about the film.

Directed by Flore Vasseur and released in 2021, it was presented as a world premiere in the “Cinema for the Climate” section at the Cannes Film Festival that same year. The documentary follows a group of teenage and young adult activists from different countries who are fighting for human rights, climate action, freedom of expression, social justice, access to education, and food security.
BIGGER THAN US begins with anger, with powerlessness, felt individually. Shared, it has become an object. Transformed, perhaps it will become a wave.
Flore Vasseur
One thing is certain: it starts with each of us.
