On the occasion of the 4th edition of VivaTech Paris, the international meeting point for startups and innovation, which took place from May 16 to 18, 2019, the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region led a delegation of 18 startups dedicated to the theme of the industry of the future.

18 startups at the Region’s booth

Co-organized by Groupe Les Echos and Publicis Groupe, VivaTech Paris is the global meeting point for innovation leaders. This international exhibition, dedicated to the growth of startups and digital transformation, took place from May 16 to 18, 2019, at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center.

After its highly visible participation in 2018 on the Agritech/Foodtech theme, this year, the AURA region is bringing a delegation of 18 startups to the VivaTech exhibition. These startups were selected during the call for expressions of interest launched last February to be exhibited at the Region’s booth.

Thus, the projects selected by the region were presented on a collective pavilion of 100 m² (J43) in the “Accelerate” area. Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises, the collective of competitiveness clusters for the industry of the future, the Alliance for the Industry of the Future, Axandus, Coboteam/Thésame, and the CCI Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes were the partners who supported the Region during this essential event.

A regional booth with the opportunity to “pitch”

Juliette Jarry, Vice-President for Digital Infrastructures, Economy, and Uses for the AURA Region, states: “In a context of organizational transformation, the ability to work collectively is one of our region’s great strengths. This is what we implement for events like VivaTech.”

Indeed, the AURA Region was able to highlight the gems of its territory during this international event. The 18 selected startups, following the call for expressions of interest, all develop innovative solutions in the industry of the future. The novelty this year is that exhibitors at the regional booths could pitch on the main VivaTech stage.

Each structure had 3 minutes for presentation followed by 3 minutes for questions/answers in the “Pitch Contest” area. A unique opportunity for startups to present and promote their solutions to exhibition visitors! Furthermore, VivaTech 2019 was an opportunity for the AURA region to demonstrate the expertise of its local innovation ecosystem and ensure exceptional visibility among several players such as BPI France, Veolia, Agorize, Business France, etc. Our TEAM@Mines Saint-Étienne initiative was also present at VivaTech 2019 at Booth C41, to support 4 startups: Denoize, Imope, Predisurge, and Tecmoled.
