On Saturday, March 14, the Saint-Étienne Convention Center hosted the graduation ceremony for Ingénieurs Civils des Mines and Doctors. It was in the snow and with great pride that the families of the graduates applauded the students, now engineers.

This 2026 edition celebrated the success of:
• 190 graduates from the Ingénieur Civil des Mines (ICM) program
• 25 new Doctors from the research centers of Mines Saint-Étienne

The class sponsor, François Fleutiaux, commended the perseverance of these young engineers. His prestigious CV inspired the new graduating class to meet tomorrow’s challenges and contribute to the major transitions of the future.
A graduate of Mines Saint-Étienne, François Fleutiaux began his career at IBM in 1989 and participated in major integration projects, including the PwC Consulting–IBM merger. He held international management positions in Europe, the USA, and Asia at IBM, Fujitsu, and Orange.
Currently a board member at MEDEF Paris, he encouraged the graduates to pursue innovation and Artificial Intelligence, while never neglecting the international dimension of their future careers.

The traditional speeches and testimonials followed one another in a solemn and warm atmosphere. Memories, laughter, and emotions were all present. After the ceremony, the student gala gave way to music and the students’ talents.

We congratulate this new class of Ingénieurs Civils des Mines as well as the Doctors who bring distinction to our School in France and internationally.

We warmly thank the organizing team for this ceremony and the staff members present to supervise and applaud the graduates!
