Led by La Rotonde, the “Girls in science, of course!” programme won the Territorial Special Prize at the Elles bougent! awards. A fine recognition for a large-scale project that embodies Mines Saint-Étienne’s commitment to gender equality in scientific careers.
“Girls in science, of course” brought together 52 women—scientists and students—who went to meet high school girls and boys in the Loire region. Their mission: to challenge gender stereotypes and inspire girls to pursue scientific and technical careers.
As a result, 3,000 students in 21 schools were able to hear inspiring testimonials and take part in interactive discussions or fun quizzes: an original way to show that science is accessible to everyone.

An award to move the needle
The Territorial Special Prize of the Equality Awards, awarded by the Elles bougent association, crowns the collective work carried out by the teams at La Rotonde – Centre for Science and Scientific Culture.
It reflects Mines Saint-Étienne’s commitment to promoting access to science for the youngest, without distinction.
