On February 6, 28 ICM graduates volunteered to take part in ICM Day and share their experience with more than 360 students from the School. Lectures, workshops, round tables… an event focused on skills, organised with France compétences to certify the Civil Engineer of Mines programme.

From the 1981 to 2020 cohorts, graduates shared their career profiles, responsibilities and sectors of activity to promote the career opportunities offered by their general engineering education.

Various workshops were offered:

  • How can you align your values—particularly environmental ones—with your professional responsibilities?
  • Is the choice of the final-year project (TFE) decisive for your first position? Is your first position decisive for the rest of your career?
  • Are engineering skills also research skills?
  • Starting a business straight after graduation or after gaining experience in a company? Is the entrepreneurial mindset valued or supported within companies?

ICM Day is also an opportunity to confirm the pleasure that graduates, students and faculty take in meeting one another. These exchanges are often the starting point for lasting relationships and future projects.
