Breaking down gender stereotypes and opening up new career prospects for middle and high school girls.

To present certain scientific professions differently to middle school (9th grade) and high school girls, broaden their educational horizons, introduce other possibilities into their professional imagination, and facilitate their public speaking, La Rotonde launched the “Science for All Genders” project.

The programme includes two sessions for meeting and exchanging with women scientists: researchers, research engineers, lab technicians, and computer scientists.

Then, after a preparation session for their presentation, the participating young girls will present their journey to their class, in the presence of their male classmates and their mentors.

In parallel, and according to the same schedule, the boys will reflect on gender-related issues.

Designed and supervised by La Rotonde, “Science for All Genders” also allows middle and high school girls to be supported in their journey by first-year students from the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne and to interact with them.

For their part, middle and high school boys will be guided in developing questionnaires, processing their data, and analyzing it by sociology students from Jean Monnet University.
