A human adventure

The newcomers’ welcome weekend (WANA) is Mines Saint-Étienne’s version of an integration weekend.

Leave your school bag behind and grab your backpack for 4 days of excitement! It is the perfect opportunity to push your limits while having fun with your entire class.
The programme includes: a first day of community service with local associations or regional farms, followed by plenty of activities such as kayaking, via ferrata, and hiking. A true fitness programme!

Objectives

  • Bring students and support staff together around the school’s values.
  • Overcome challenges together.
  • Prioritize local roots (the Pilat massif for ICM students and the Écrins massif for ISMIN students).
  • Discover a “green” city (on the doorstep of nature).

This trip is organised in collaboration with the School; new students share the activities with staff, students from the previous cohort and alumni, who can also help them discover Mines in their own way.
