A tool for energy efficiency

Developing a building’s digital twin—such as the Espace Fauriel, a building of the École des Mines—makes it possible to manage tailored energy-efficiency actions (by space) and contributes to the ecological transition on a daily basis.
Implementing a building digital twin makes it possible to address a wide range of issues aligned with the interests of owners, landlords, or tenants, such as understanding a building’s thermal behaviour with a view to energy efficiency.
From a more academic perspective, this makes it possible to explore a broad range of scientific research areas such as: “low-tech” innovation, statistical modelling, image analysis, machine learning, security, privacy, data and systems interoperability, and distributed asset management.

Databat proposes to develop a visualisation platform by integrating the building’s IFC model (Industry Foundation Classes, which provides an object-oriented conceptual data model). The web interface displays both historical and real-time data for various parameters such as temperature, humidity, etc., using the sensors installed in the building.
