Professional Objectives

  • Gain initial practical experience and an understanding of threats related to fault injection attacks on microcontrollers (such as those used in connected objects);
  • Deepen expertise in fault attacks using security characterization benches (EM and laser).

Learning objectives

  • Une journée et demie dédiée à la sensibilisation théorique et pratique à ces attaques :
    • A theoretical introduction to the physical mechanisms enabling fault injection;
    • A full day dedicated to practicing fault injection attacks on the laser and electromagnetic pulse injection benches at the Centre of Microelectronics in Provence.

Programme

  • 1st day
    • 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Theoretical course on fault injection
    • 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM: EM injection practical work
  • 2nd day
    • 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Laser injection practical work

Course Fees

€1,500 per participant.

Required Equipment

A PC with the following installed:

  • A recent version of Python;
  • The Arduino IDE to facilitate the use of the prototypes.
