As every year, second-year students completed the “Intercultural Openness” module through artistic, societal, geographical and scientific workshops. Held at the end of January this year and delivered remotely—due to the health situation—these workshops enable students to better prepare for their future careers in an international and intercultural context.

At the end of January, second-year students took part in artistic, societal, geographical and scientific workshops. Over two weeks and on several days, students participated in the workshops organised as part of the “Intercultural Openness” module. Due to the health situation, the workshops were delivered remotely, which did not prevent high-quality exchanges between students and speakers. Students benefited from external contributors. Artists and lecturers shared their skills and knowledge with the second-year students. In total, 6 workshops were offered to around 200 students, including 2 in English.

The objectives of this module were to better prepare for their future careers in an international and intercultural context, to avoid the main dysfunctions linked to intercultural issues, and to develop their adaptability in a multicultural environment.

To explore, through art, the identity of the ethical and sustainable engineer. Antoine Louisgrand, an art enthusiast, enabled students to open up to others, to themselves, to meeting an artist, and to the pleasure of creating artworks together. Ahead of the workshop, a mirror made in the fablab was sent to students, and a printed booklet featuring the works in a collective volume will be provided to them.
