110 international students from 29 nationalities joined the Mines Saint-Étienne campuses and its various courses at the beginning of September: they benefit from an enhanced reception and integration system, thanks to the mobilization of the teaching team and a very active student association, the actions of the “Students Welcome Desk,” and clearly identified meetings for our students.
Each international student is mentored by a student: present and active from their arrival at the airport or station until they are settled! Essential guidance and support from the start of the academic year and throughout the course.
Mines Saint-Étienne is part of the “Students Welcome Desk,” which brings together higher education institutions in Saint-Étienne: the office, led by the schools, specifically manages administrative procedures. Activities offered to students are pooled and subsidized by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region.
MIS, Mines International Students, is now the essential international association for student reception and integration. Led by ICM students, it creates a permanent link between students and their environment. MIS offers numerous recreational, cultural, and sporting activities, very open to the city and the region: organizing and supervising outings, challenges, and social events.
Finally, the school’s international office provides administrative reception, remains fully available, and mobilizes to organize social highlights such as the “Welcoming lunch” shared by international students (particularly from ICM and Master of Science programmes) of 29 different nationalities from nearly 30 partner institutions.
The team also oversees the scheduled meetings for students:
- The presentation of the “Jeunes ambassadeurs” programme supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in which the school’s international students have participated for several years. It is aimed at students in ICM courses, Masters, and international PhD students.
- The international student meeting on Thursday, October 18, in Lyon, a dedicated visit programme offered by AGERA; nearly 500 students from about twenty schools in the network are expected. Learn more
