Innovation, technology and collaboration at the heart of our entrepreneurial ecosystem

The TEAM @ Mines Saint-Étienne incubator, on our 2 campuses, continues to attract bold projects with high technological value. This month, we are pleased to welcome two promising young ventures: Unlimited Driving Corporation and Coating Edge.

Unlimited Driving Corporation: immersive teleoperation made in Provence

Based in Marseille, Unlimited Driving Corporation (UDC) develops real-time teleoperation technology enabling remote control of miniature vehicles on real tracks, from a simulator. A spectacular immersion at the crossroads of video gaming and physical driving, embodied by their first offering: The Ring.

The objective

Democratize access to motorsports, while laying the foundation for a technology reusable in logistics, tourism or industry.

Why TEAM?

The incubator enables them to overcome several technological challenges (indoor geolocation, haptic feedback, induction charging, etc.) by leveraging the school’s technology platforms, the expertise of faculty researchers and the IMT network.

Collaborations already underway

  • Project with Junior Mines Provence on vehicle-simulator communication
  • PRICE mission on the environmental impact of the solution
  • Opening to other student projects, internships and upcoming demonstrations

Coating Edge: innovative and accessible surface treatments

Founded by Clément Breure, the startup Coating Edge specializes in surface treatment solutions for industry. It offers a complete range:

  • Custom treatment services
  • Machine rental with maintenance
  • Machine sales with associated services

The developed machine combines several cutting-edge technologies:

  • DC/RF cathodic sputtering
  • Integrated plasma cleaning
  • Simultaneous deposition of multiple materials
  • Embedded thickness measurement system

Why TEAM?

To accelerate technical development through the school’s specialized resources, particularly in thin film analysis, and benefit from high-level scientific and industrial support.

Collaboration prospects:

  • FabLab development on metal treatments (welding, machining, foundry, etc.)
  • Upcoming student projects around surface technologies

These two startups perfectly embody the spirit of our incubator: technology, interdisciplinarity, concrete testing ground for our students and researchers. Welcome to the Mines Saint-Étienne ecosystem!
