Each year, the VIE Russia Grand Prize, organised by Business France, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), and the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF) based in Moscow, recognises outstanding international career paths. For the second year in a row, the winner is an ICM alumnus: Sacha Rouiller, E2015, awarded at the 2019 edition, succeeds Josselin Fuzier, E2013, winner in 2018. Thank you to our alumni who help enhance our school’s reputation!

Congratulations to Sacha!

“During this year spent in Russia, I discovered the V.I.E. programme. Beneficial both for the company and for the person undertaking it, the V.I.E. is ideal for starting an international career. I therefore approached French companies based in Moscow, and I found a receptive ear at FM Logistic, which trusted me enough to recruit me under this status.”

“Thanks to the Louis Neltner excellence scholarship and a foundation scholarship received during my studies, I was able to fund an academic mobility period during the 3rd year of my course. I chose to do it at the Bauman Institute in Moscow.”

Sacha Rouiller very quickly took on significant responsibilities by being entrusted with an internationally scoped project, under the supervision of the Group’s Executive Committee members.

Winning first place at the 2019 V.I.E. Grand Prize is strong recognition of the international path I chose to pursue and of my commitment in everyday life.

“This news was very well received by my company and immediately became the subject of group-wide communication. Thanks to the skills we develop at École des Mines de Saint-Étienne, we have everything we need to adapt internationally. You just have to take the plunge!”

Congratulations to Josselin!

For Josselin Fuzier, with compulsory second-language (LV2) courses, exchange students on campus, and opportunities for academic mobility, École des Mines de Saint-Étienne gives its engineers the keys to achieve great things in an international environment! “First in LV2 Russian classes, then through academic mobility in Moscow, Mines enabled me to build the foundations of my path in Russia.”

“Four years after my arrival in Moscow, I hold the position of ‘Sales & Service Manager Russia’ at Plasma-Therm, an international supplier for a highly technical segment of micro/nanotech.”

The VIE is an ideal route for taking your first steps into working life abroad. My two years of VIE opened up new prospects in Russia for my then Grenoble-based company, and gave me a tremendous experience that built skills, confidence, and openness. I was thus awarded the 2018 VIE Russia Grand Prize, one year before Sacha, for all of my personal and professional work.

The profile of the civil mining engineer is not only appreciated internationally, but also succeeds. The Saint-Étienne combination—courses, associations, and life at the ME—seems to produce engineers who are open and agile internationally, proactive in both personal and professional spheres. !”

Both will be happy to answer Mineurs’ questions about the VIE or any other aspect of their path!
