First-year students in the Ingénieur Civil des Mines (ICM) programme returned to campus at 158 cours Fauriel on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

150 students from diverse backgrounds joined the historic Saint-Étienne campus under spring-like sunshine, just a few days after their counterparts at the Campus Provence.

This year’s cohort includes one quarter women, one quarter scholarship holders, and nearly one third international students.

Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, presented the institution and its academic expectations to the newcomers during the traditional welcome address.

Krzysztof Wolski and Hélène Pangot, Deputy Director of Programmes and Dean of Studies and Head of the Diversity Mission respectively, then outlined the main features of the programme, as well as the values and commitments upheld by the School.

Wishing everyone a great start to the academic year and a wonderful year ahead.
