Students from Saint-Étienne visited the Henri Fayol Institute on Tuesday, January 30. They took advantage of this visit to attend a presentation on artificial intelligence.
Around ten motivated and willing students were accompanied by volunteers from the Réussir Aujourd’hui association and retirees from Mines Saint-Étienne. They were welcomed at the IT’m Factory, the platform designed to support the digital transformation of companies through immersion in the industry of the future.
Olivier Boissier, director of the Henri Fayol Institute and professor at Mines Saint-Étienne, took advantage of this visit to present the concepts and challenges related to artificial intelligence (AI). He also explained how the institute’s researchers are developing concrete solutions to issues related to the rise of AI in our daily lives. Finally, he shared his vision of what AI should be when serving humanity.
The high school students present benefited from the Cordées de la réussite program. This program offers support to students in their career guidance. It was created to promote access to higher education for young people who, due to their social or territorial background, limit their academic ambition or do not have all the keys to embark on a long-term training program.
