Vincent Charvillat honored us with his presence at our premises located at 158 cours Fauriel, Saint-Étienne, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

For two hours, the Deputy Director General of IMT presented and discussed the implementation of Institut Mines-Télécom’s 2023-2027 strategy, with particular focus on the priority actions to be implemented in the coming months.

Using a PowerPoint presentation, punctuated by contributions from Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, and questions from several faculty researchers and center directors, Vincent Charvillat detailed the nine key strategic directions of the group’s overall strategy:

4 “core mission” strategic directions:

Strategic Direction M1
Adapt and transform our educational programs to
meet growth needs and the expectations
of students and businesses.
Strategic Direction M2
Develop and network a professional and
lifelong learning program offering.
Strategic Direction M3
Address the needs of strategic industrial sectors
and the challenges of public policies through
academic and technological research
at IMT scale.
Strategic Direction M4
Be an active participant in regional economic
development policies and support companies
in their transformations.

5 “cross-cutting” strategic directions:

Strategic Direction T1
Make IMT a committed, visible, and recognized
player in the European ecosystem with an
international presence.
Strategic Direction T2
Strengthen commitment to ecological transition
at all levels and amplify its impacts.
Strategic Direction T3
Structure partnerships at territorial, national,
and European levels to create high-performing
ecosystems and leverage effects.
Strategic Direction T4
Increase IMT’s attractiveness for its internal
and external stakeholders.
Strategic Direction T5
Structure and consolidate collective operations
in support of the strategy.

I have only one word to say: wow! The machine is incredibly efficient. The School benefits from a very attractive image. We must continue to be at the top of the class and maintain our lead.

Vincent Charvillat, Deputy Director General of Institut Mines-Télécom
