A plaque was unveiled on this occasion on Wednesday, March 12.
This multi-sport field had been anticipated for several years.
It was officially inaugurated by Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, accompanied by about sixty students and staff members, including David Delafosse, Director of the Gardanne campus.
The heavy rain disrupted the event’s schedule and forced the various speakers to speak at Tibar, a convivial space integrated into the Students’ House.
It should be noted that the School offered three balls (basketball, football, and volleyball) representing the sports that can be played on the site, as well as two sets of 15 bibs for the Sports Office (BDS).
They said:
Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne: “I am pleased to bring this project to fruition and to offer new facilities to the campus students. I sincerely thank the Mines-Télécom Foundation and the alumni for their unwavering support.”
David Delafosse, Director of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Campus: “I am pleased to see that the multi-sport field is already a meeting and exchange point. It has been embraced by students since its opening.”
Paul-Henri Oltra, alumni representative: “This multi-sport field highlights the importance of sport and its values for personal balance.”
Léane Bauer, President of the BDS: “My thanks go to the School, the Mines-Télécom Foundation, and its predecessors who worked to achieve this realization.”
