The event, hosted on the Georges Charpak Provence Campus on November 9 and 10, was a great success with 70 participants, including strong involvement from ISMIN engineering students and 10 teams who ingeniously addressed the metropolitan area’s problems!
Organized by Nodya Group, STMicroelectronics’ COOLab, the Aix-en-Provence FabLab, Mines Saint-Étienne’s ID-Fab platform, the Sud Paca Region, and the Aix-Marseille Metropolis, it focused on regional issues: mobility, environment, and citizens’ well-being.
Sharing, creative innovation, prototyping – participants confronted theory and practice, working in teams on Smart City-related themes.
They prototyped for 24 hours to find solutions using the tools at their disposal: connected objects to measure and produce data, platforms, or datasets.
The Internet of Things, Big Data, Open Data, and Smart City were indeed at the heart of this hackathon, which also featured workshops and conferences.
Ultimately, the prototypes produced in less than 24 hours are all of high quality and deserve to be continued!
Heartfelt congratulations and thanks are extended to the organizers and participants:
– to the organizing members: Nodya Group, STMicroelectronics’ COOLab, LAB, Aix-en-Provence FabLab, Mines Saint-Étienne, through its ID-Fab platform (#minessaintetiennetech), as well as to the representatives of the local authorities, Sud Provence Alpes Côtes d’Azur Region and Aix-Marseille Metropolis, who provided the use cases and remained very present and available throughout these days.
– to the participants who rose to the challenge with great success, with a special mention to the 32 ISMIN students for their strong involvement and to Nathan Rolando, an ISMIN student, for creating and sharing the timelapse of the event.
Prior to the event, several Aix-en-Provence C-In Meetups allowed participants to learn about the various challenges and IoT platforms (STMicroelectronics, Aix Lab, Nodya group…) set up during the Smart City Zen Hackathon on November 9 and 10 at the Georges Charpak Provence campus.
