Four students were finalists in the Thales Arduino Competition, nearly 60 participants took part in Nuit de l’Info 2016 and the 36H Chrono: our engineering students turn their ideas into projects and share experiences in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Four ICM students selected for the final of the Thales Arduino competition

5 projects out of 286 were selected for this final, which will take place on December 15 at Thales’ headquarters in Paris. The Eshell team, made up of Thomas Jakowleff, Simon Breumier, Axel Vincent and Baptiste Monpezat, third-year ICM students, was selected for its project “An Anti-Drone Shield“: The idea is to design an electronic system capable of detecting a drone intrusion within a perimeter and taking control of it in order to land it in a secure area, a project developed on an Arduino board and a Raspberry Pi.
“The principle of the competition was to develop, using an Arduino Uno kit, a project that could fit within the Group’s areas of activity (aeronautics, space, defence, security and transport).
Since the announcement of the 5 finalist teams on December 2, our students have been preparing their presentation to defend their project before the final jury on December 15… results in a few days!

“Living well in the Mediterranean” or 36 hours of challenge

The 4th edition of the 36h Chrono business creation challenge was successfully held on November 16 and 17 in Marseille. The aim was to “discover business by imagining it, start from an idea and turn it into a business project in just 36 hours, share skills and innovate as a multidisciplinary team to experience an intense dose of entrepreneurship”.

Three ISMIN students, Yann Meyjonade, Sébastien Loux, Quentin Rivera, took part in this event, an enriching experience as part of the entrepreneurship clearance in their programme.
Michel Fiocchi was a member of the jury.
