Mines Saint-Étienne took part in the 11th edition of Cybermoi/s last October. Two conferences were organised for the occasion, a few days apart: the first on the Saint-Étienne campus, the second on the Aix-Marseille-Provence campus.

In Saint-Étienne, on Wednesday 18 October, around fifty people came to learn about the challenges of cybersecurity in a hyperconnected world where the risks of malicious acts are numerous and increasingly difficult to detect.

Dominique Berthet, Director of the Information Systems Department, and Guillaume Muller, a lecturer-researcher at Mines Saint-Étienne, presented the main risks and traps set by hackers before offering advice for safer, more secure browsing.

Romain De Zan, Head of the IT/Data Department and a lawyer at Lex-Part Avocats, concluded by sharing his expertise on the subject, helping people better protect themselves both in their professional lives and in their day-to-day lives.

A few days later, at the Aix-Marseille-Provence campus, a similar session enabled the thirty or so people present—staff and students—to learn about the challenges of cybersecurity as well.

Raphaël Viera, Senior Lecturer, during his talk on the Aix-Marseille-Provence campus on Tuesday 24 October.

What is Cybermoi/s?

Cybermoi/s is a European event organised by the French National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI) and Cybermalveillance. Its aim is to raise public awareness of cybersecurity issues. As our lives become increasingly connected, this annual campaign brings together many stakeholders to share advice and best practices to adopt at every moment of our digital lives.
