The SPIN center is a partner in the collaborative R&D project “Smart Solid” selected under the 25th call for projects of the FUI, Fonds Unique Interministériel. Led by INEVO Technologies, this project focuses on implementing a digital twin for crystallization operations.

The FUI SMART SOLID is a project with a budget of 1.5 million euros funded by BPI and FEDER, which aims to transform the operation and maintenance of industrial batch or continuous crystallizers through digital technology and the development of new industrial sensor technologies.

The project is led by INEVO Technologies in partnership with Optimistik, the Laboratory of Automation, Process Engineering and Pharmaceutical Engineering LAGEPP (UCBL Lyon1 – CNRS) and the SPIN center Mines Saint-Étienne.
The Smart Solid project is labeled by the AXELERA cluster and co-labeled by the MINALOGIC cluster

The laboratories will work on evaluating innovative sensor technologies for solution analysis and characterization of the properties of the solid formed during crystallization.
This information will be collected, stored, and analyzed via an IT platform developed by OPTIMISTIK to implement a digital twin of the crystallization operation. This digital twin will in turn be developed by the teams at INEVO Technologies, a company hosted on the Axel’One Innovative Processes Platform (PPI) in Solaize.
