They paraded in uniform through the city streets to celebrate the patron saint of miners and firefighters on Saturday, December 7.
They cut a fine figure in the streets of Saint-Étienne on this evening of Saint Barbara’s Day celebration.
Over a hundred students from Mines Saint-Étienne paraded from the forecourt of Saint-Charles Cathedral to the foot of the Couriot pit headframe to honor the patron saint of miners and firefighters, as well as the memory of the prestigious mining corporation whose influence on the city was significant.

In the dark of night, the future engineers then watched a splendid fireworks display presented by the city of Saint-Étienne.
Every year, in early December, the students of Mines Saint-Étienne faithfully attend this event, which is at once festive, unifying, and commemorative.
