Around forty people traveled to Charbonnières-les-Bains on Monday, October 2, to visit the DIWII facilities located on the Campus Région du numérique.
Following an introductory speech by Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, and Éric Duflot, Director of Partnerships and Innovation, the guests toured the various workshops of the technology platform affiliated with Mines Saint-Étienne and dedicated to the industry of the future, student and industry training, as well as innovation.
This friendly gathering provided an opportunity for the institution’s future ambassadors to interact with staff members present on site and discover the wide range of activities offered at the facility.
ECE and Mines Saint-Étienne sign an agreement for the “Digital Industry Major” program

Through this partnership and as part of a two-year curriculum, students will benefit from DIWII’s facilities to familiarize themselves with the industrial world, develop advanced software, understand the potential of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, and master other Industry 4.0 technologies.
As an integral part of a program accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur and conferring the Master of Science in Engineering degree, courses will be taught entirely in English by professionals and faculty researchers. They will be complemented by more general coursework, internships, and projects.
This agreement applies to students who enrolled in the program for the 2023 academic year.
This agreement embodies the success of our DIWII platform, dedicated to technology transfer and initial and continuing education programs on the skills required for the industry and healthcare of the future. DIWII provides a concrete solution to support the digital transformation of industrial companies, particularly in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region, as well as the skills development of their executives.
Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne
Two other training agreements have been signed between DIWII and higher education institutions:
- The Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes will benefit from DIWII’s infrastructure as part of a new professional bachelor’s degree entitled: Design and Improvement of Industrial Processes and Procedures – Industry of the Future Track. Fifteen days will be devoted to industrial automation, robotics/cobots, digital twins, and augmented reality during the training year.
- The LDLC school, dedicated to entrepreneurship, has also chosen DIWII to enable its new recruits to train in Industry 4.0 with cutting-edge technology tools. Five days of immersion are planned in the students’ curriculum.
DIWII gets a makeover!

A change in graphic identity has recently given the platform a fresh new look.
The website (www.diwii.fr) is undoubtedly the most representative communication tool of this change. It has undergone a major redesign in both content and form. The result is a significant improvement in readability and more intuitive access to varied and regularly updated content. The logo (above) has also evolved to give the whole a resolutely modern and dynamic image.
This change in graphic identity illustrates and drives a new momentum. DIWII is now a full-fledged brand platform, supported by Mines Saint-Étienne, with its multiple activities focused on the industry of the future.
Bruno Chavagneux, DIWII Manager
This “facelift” is the first since DIWII was created in January 2021.
