On Wednesday, November 10, Mines Saint-Etienne and Veolia signed a partnership agreement. It formalizes work already undertaken between the two entities. The agreement provides for joint projects in research, academics, entrepreneurship, and dissemination of scientific culture to address environmental transition challenges.

Development of innovative solutions
Meeting at the Maison du Parc de l’École, Pascal Ray (Director of Mines Saint-Etienne) and Cyril Chassagnard (Regional Director, Veolia Centre-Est) signed a partnership agreement. This partnership aligns with the School’s strategy to support companies in their transition to Industry 4.0, for which environmental issues are a major challenge. It “will allow [the School] to access very concrete field data and conduct research that meets the real environmental needs of companies,” explains Pascal Ray.
This partnership includes research projects on energy efficiency, hydrogen technologies, industrial equipment lifespan, among others. Part of this research will specifically focus on urban challenges.
Objective: addressing environmental transition challenges

Academics and dissemination of scientific culture
This partnership also includes an academic component. It is agreed that Veolia will participate in the School’s pedagogy through joint course design, professional interventions, and internship opportunities, among others.
In collaboration with La Rotonde (Center for Scientific, Technical, and Industrial Culture of Mines Saint-Etienne), Veolia will develop content on water and environmental themes. Exhibitions and/or workshops at the various La Rotonde sites will be developed.
