Created and led by Télécom SudParis in collaboration with Mines Saint-Étienne (Institut Fayol) and Institut Mines-Télécom Business School, in partnership with the Fondation Mines-Télécom, this teaching chair was launched on June 12. It will contribute to developing a reference training program on intelligent network architecture.

The objective is to train competent generalist engineers who are open to change, capable of designing, sizing, deploying, optimizing, and evolving networks that are constantly changing across all sectors of activity.” The chair is supported by Bouygues Telecom, CNS Communications, NOKIA, SPIE ICS, and SNCF Réseau.

The teaching chair “Networks of the Future for Tomorrow’s Services” and the specialization track “Architecture & Intelligence for Networks” (AIR) were initiated by Antoine Lavignotte, a researcher-lecturer at Télécom SudParis, with whom Philippe Jaillon, a researcher-lecturer at Institut Fayol, has been working for several years.
Last year, they obtained funding from the inter-Carnot Mines-Télécom for a joint project addressing new risks in networks and industrial systems.

Launch of the chair on June 12: presentation of the training program, the first cohort of students, and the Very High Speed platform, followed by a panel discussion with all partners.

Philippe Jaillon contributes to the teaching of the new AIR program through the organization and coordination of a module entitled “Networks for Industry 4.0”.
To provide students with a high-quality operational environment, the part of the course requiring access to industrial systems will take place at Mines Saint-Étienne within the IT’m Factory platform; the first session will be held in June 2020.

Furthermore, as part of the exchange protocol within IMT in the third year, A. Lavignotte presented his training program to first-year ICM students on June 17, as well as the career path opportunities available to them.
