Jean-François Bassereau, a lecturer-researcher at the School, contributed—through the RCP Design Global agency—to the design of the future metro.
Jean-François divides his working time between Mines Saint-Étienne (25%), the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (25%) and the RCP Design Global agency (50%).
Grand Paris Express is the largest urban project in Europe focused on public transport. On Friday, October 2, the first of the 183 trainsets of the future metro was unveiled at La Fabrique du Métro in Saint-Ouen.
The RCP Design Global agency, which specialises in public transport design and is an expert in sensory design, was entrusted with project management assistance to define the design guidelines through to the metro’s delivery. It supported this project all the way to the manufacturer ALSTOM, taking care to consistently reflect the intentions and sensory-use innovations it had defined.
Eight years of work to offer passengers more space, light and comfort, as well as easier movement during their journeys.
Congratulations to Jean-François Bassereau for his involvement in this excellent project!
