The Responsible Digital certification aims to reduce the social, economic, and environmental footprint of digital technology.
Today, the internet accounts for 4% of GHG emissions, the average lifespan of a computer is 4 years, and 70 to 90% of electrical and electronic equipment does not follow regulated recycling channels. Faced with such challenges, Mines Saint-Etienne has committed to a responsible digital approach and has received its first certification.
The certification process involves several steps: a MOOC training course that leads to the Responsible Digital Knowledge Certificate, followed by an audit conducted by the LUCIE Agency, which awards the certification for 2 years.
Thanks to the dedicated work of Dominique Berthet and Sandrine Bonny, Mines Saint-Etienne has obtained the Responsible Digital Level 1 certification and will be able to develop its action plan to reduce its digital footprint. And why not aim for Level 2?
