During Industry Week, from November 18 to 24, 2024, Mines Saint-Étienne and ISTP Ingénieurs reaffirmed their common mission: to train the engineers of tomorrow to revive French industry and strengthen the country’s sovereignty.
A Partnership at the Heart of French Reindustrialization
For 30 years, Mines Saint-Étienne and ISTP Ingénieurs have combined their expertise to meet the expectations of strategic industries. Together, the two schools offer work-study engineering Academics in crucial fields – Industrial Engineering, Nuclear, Energy, Embedded Electronic Systems – directly connected to the country’s industrial needs. Through their unique alliance between the public sector and the industrial world, the two institutions actively participate in the reindustrialization of the territory by providing companies with talents capable of meeting the technological and environmental challenges of the coming decades.
Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, and Cyril Faure, CEO of ISTP Ingénieurs, emphasize the importance of this partnership: “ To regain industrial sovereignty, French companies must develop technological innovations while ensuring sustainable production. They must therefore invest for the future. Our unique partnership is equal to this major challenge: through apprenticeships, we provide companies with our resources in research, innovation, and Academics. “
Structured Growth to Support Economic Transitions
The Mines Saint-Étienne-ISTP Ingénieurs partnership welcomed 485 new work-study engineering students this year, an increase of 20%, bringing the total to 1,200 students trained in sectors at the heart of current transitions. This growth model confirms the effectiveness of work-study programs in meeting the expectations of reindustrialization. It allows engineering students to acquire technical skills and the agility necessary to integrate technological advancements and thus address strategic challenges.
A Talent Pool for Enhanced Industrial Sovereignty
With over 4,800 graduate engineers, Mines Saint-Étienne and ISTP Ingénieurs have been training highly qualified profiles for three decades who quickly access positions of responsibility. Thanks to their rigorous curriculum adapted to industrial realities, these engineers are able to accelerate the reindustrialization of the national territory by bringing new skills and an innovative vision.
By focusing on work-study programs and a pedagogy oriented towards the concrete needs of industry, the partnership signed at the premises of the Loire department prefecture on Thursday, November 14, significantly contributes to strengthening French industrial sovereignty.
