It formalizes and consolidates the relationship between the two organizations for the next five years.

The signing of this partnership took place on the Saint-Étienne campus on Wednesday, June 26, in the presence of Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, and Caroline Meiss, Regional Director of Employment in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

For some time now, our two institutions have decided to strengthen their collaboration on structural projects related to digital and energy transitions and new manufacturing processes.

Mines Saint-Étienne and EDF thus confirm their commitment to progressing together in a long-term approach to decarbonization and industrial efficiency.

Thanks to a dedicated steering committee, this partnership will enable work on:

Training and attractiveness to carry out joint actions on:

  • Pedagogy and expert intervention
  • EDF hosting our engineering and Specialized Master’s students
  • Attracting young people to courses with career opportunities in the energy sector
  • Increasing the number of women in engineering professions, notably through the “Ambassadrice” programme in connection with the Mines-Télécom Foundation
  • Accessibility to industrial professions for people with disabilities

Research on topics such as:

  • Tools and processes for the digitalization of production systems and flows
  • WAAM additive manufacturing technology for maintenance issues as well as other applications related to innovative projects
  • Data management to successfully integrate technological developments

Innovation and entrepreneurship through:

  • Collaborations with startups supported by Mines Saint-Étienne as part of its TEAM technology incubator
  • Joint contributions to stimulate, encourage, and develop student entrepreneurship

Scientific culture to:

  • Support the La Rotonde and Explora teams on topics related, for example, to hydroelectricity
