Magdalena Potz, a lecturer in management sciences specializing in public management, received the City of Marseille’s 2nd Thesis Prize 2025 in the “Society and democracy” category. A member of the Coactis Laboratory, a joint management-science research laboratory between Jean Monnet University (Saint-Étienne), Mines Saint-Étienne and Lumière Lyon University, the award winner defended her thesis entitled “Implementing the co-creation of local public policies in the face of the Grand Challenges” last year.
The City of Marseille Prize recognized the quality and originality of the work, which helps to better understand how public stakeholders can design, together with citizens and local organizations, innovative responses to today’s major challenges.
Magdalena is now continuing her work at the Fayol Institute on the co-construction of public policies, territorial innovation and participatory approaches. Her contribution strengthens the positioning of the Responsible Management and Innovation Department on issues of public management and the transformation of territorial organizations.
