Mines Saint-Étienne hosted the 3rd Lowtech & Industry Day on November 6.
115 participants came together to exchange with industrial and economic stakeholders, local authorities, and associations from the Saint-Étienne metropolitan area and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
With the theme “LowTech as an opportunity for regional development dynamics,” this day provided an opportunity to explore in greater depth issues of regional anchoring and consideration of these territories’ economic ecosystem. In an urban area such as Saint-Étienne, topics such as reshoring, the circular economy, and industrial and territorial ecology must also be addressed when discussing LowTech.
To bring perspectives together, two talks and a round-table discussion were offered:
- Anne-Charlotte Bonjean (ADEME) spoke about the tools provided by the French Agency for Ecological Transition to implement LowTech approaches within one’s company.
- Elise Panchout Hauters (CPM Industries) addressed the professionalisation of LowTech in Normandy.
- Christine Berton (La Rotonde, Mines Saint-Étienne) facilitated an exchange session with stakeholders from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region on local LowTech momentum.
The afternoon was devoted to presentations and discussions around case studies, experiments, and research projects on LowTech in companies and across territories.
The event was a success and the discussions were highly engaging. Mines Saint-Étienne thanks the partners of this event as well as the organising team: Valérie Laforest, Eloïse Morales, Tatiana Reyes, Elise Hauters, Ulysse Girard, Sebastian Pinto, Ilan Vermeren, Anne-Charlotte Bonjean, Audrey Tanguy, Sacha Hodencq and Florent Breuil.
