This former student, professor, and researcher in metallurgy at the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne from 1958 to 2000, has compiled his memories and experiences on a website. An invaluable account to explore.
“I realized that I was among those who had worked at the École des Mines for a very long time and who had witnessed its evolution from many perspectives: staff, teaching, research, buildings, etc. Starting in metallurgy, I moved on to mechanics and, since the early 1980s, to biomaterials, thus initiating work with the medical world. For several years now, I have been involved in safeguarding the mineralogy collection and researching old equipment that is part of our heritage .”
He added: “I have not counted the hours spent writing this site. Probably as many as for each of the four books already published. I have only addressed the areas I know and where I have worked. Perhaps this will give others the idea to do the same for their activities .”
