As at the start of every year, the Director presented his best wishes to his colleagues at the Gardanne and Saint-Étienne campuses.
The Aix-Marseille-Provence Campus was the first to host this address on Monday, January 15.
Following a resolutely positive and forward-looking speech, notably featuring the launch of the SPOT project, the creation of a City Stadium, and several key recruitments, guests shared a convivial moment over a traditional King’s Cake.
Jacques Fayolle also took the opportunity to honor Dominique Feillet (PhD in Industrial Engineering) and Acacio Marques (Lecturer in Electronics and Industrial Computing) with the Palmes Académiques. Dominique Villaréal received the Marsaut lamp to mark her retirement after twenty years of dedicated service as an Executive Assistant and HR Project Manager at the CMP.

One week later, on Monday, January 22, Jacques Fayolle addressed his colleagues at the Saint-Étienne campus in the F2 amphitheater.
In a tone that was once again optimistic and forward-looking, he invited the audience to: “take care of themselves and work as much as possible towards the school’s prestige.” By mentioning the Campus of the Future, Mines Saint-Étienne’s rise to 10th place in the ranking of the best French engineering schools established by L’Étudiant, the recognition of MedTechLab@ as a third-party testing site, the TWIN project, and the “small daily projects,” Jacques Fayolle set the tone for a 2024 that is starting under favorable auspices.
Béatrice Bégon (Executive Assistant), Pascale Bach (Head of Staff Training and General and Legal Affairs), and Carmen Acosta (career within the Education Department) attended to receive the Marsaut lamp, a gift of high symbolic value marking their recent retirement after several decades of service to the institution.

As in Gardanne, a moment of sharing over a King’s Cake and a glass of cider concluded this 2024 New Year ceremony in high spirits.
Note that a small jar of tapenade was offered by the management to all staff members.
