The days dedicated to the collaborative innovation experience brought together 86 students, divided into 12 teams to address the problem of electronic waste. The professional jury, chaired by Yves Blisson, economic journalist for Radio France / MProvence, and Nicole Pelouzet, STMicroelectronics, patron of the ISMIN 2020 graduating class, awarded two projects.
The 2020 edition promoted diversity and openness by welcoming students from the Master of Science in Engineering in Innovation Management and Information Systems from Aix-Marseille University and student entrepreneurs from the PEPITE hub who joined the 3rd-year ISMIN engineering students.
Another new feature was that the engineering students participated in the development of the event days by suggesting the theme “Electronic Waste and Future Generations” and proposing several speakers and jury members.
Idea Generation / Project Maturation / Student Presentations and Pitches: After the presentation of the process and objectives, Youssef Menjour, guest of the event, highlighted the enormous societal and economic interest of this issue. An ISMIN 2007 graduate, he is the president of Technologies de France, a startup dedicated to extracting metals from the resource represented by our electronic waste.
The jury prize went to the “Recyclable Printed Circuit Board” project, created on a paper support; the special favorite, after discussions and 4 votes… rewarded the Eco-Move project.
The jury, chaired by Yves Blisson, journalist and economic columnist, notably for France Bleu Provence and director of MProvence, was composed of teachers, representatives from institutional and economic environments, and school partners, including the class patron, Nicole Pelouzet, a Centrale graduate and financial control director for the Microcontrollers & Memory division at STMicroelectronics.
Thanks to all participating students, facilitators Olivier Christol, Maieutik and co, Nathalie Baud, Perspectives Ressources, Yann Chapus graphic facilitator, jury members, and organizers Thibaut Metailler, Michel Fiocchi, Mines Saint-Étienne, Marie Breziski, coordinator Pepite Provence, Bénédicte Aldebert and Amandine Pascal, Aix-Marseille University.
