As part of the 4th edition of Data City by NUMA, IMOPE, a spin-off from Mines Saint-Étienne, has won the “Accelerating energy renovation of housing” challenge in partnership with the City of Paris, the Paris Climate Agency, ENEDIS, Total, the Lacroix Group, and the National Centre for Space Studies. This is an excellent opportunity for IMOPE to deploy its expertise and propose renovation actions tailored to Paris.

The objective of the Data City challenge is to enhance the value of the data held by various partners by transforming it into clear and relevant information in the form of a mapping tool.
This ergonomic digital tool will identify indicators of barriers to energy renovation to improve the targeting and monitoring of buildings, primarily co-owned properties, that are likely to undergo work.

In this context, this challenge allows IMOPE to continue the work carried out in Saint-Étienne Métropole (with ALEC 42) by bringing in new data with new partners:

Observe, provide a better understanding of the territory at the most granular level, target, identify buildings based on selected criteria, support, leverage information to improve services for residents, enhance the territory’s value, and achieve objectives.

Specializing in the development of digital mapping tools and territorial data processing, IMOPE supports public and private stakeholders through its expertise and know-how in their smart city and energy transition projects; the tool is developed within the Territory Platform of the Institut Fayol.

What if… co-owned properties accelerated the energy renovation of buildings?”
“The Paris Climate Plan aims for the city to be carbon neutral by 2050. Heating and cooling buildings is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions (…). Our Partners wish to identify the co-owned properties with the highest GHG emissions to encourage them to carry out large-scale energy renovation work; for this purpose, they have chosen IMOPE, a very young startup from Mines Saint-Étienne, to develop a mapping of these buildings and propose renovation actions adapted to each property.”
