Guillaume Desbrosse, Director of La Rotonde, was invited to the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales in Paris to discuss “Science at the Heart of Culture”. Alongside Bruno Maquart, President of UniverscienceCité des sciences et de l’industrie and Palais de la découverte; Elise Duc-Fortier, Director of S[cube]; and Alexandrine Maviel-Sonet, Director of AMCSTI (the French network of museums and science centres), they addressed the various issues raised: how can science be made accessible to all audiences? How can critical thinking be promoted and debates on science and new technologies be informed? In this way, elected officials and cultural or education project leaders in attendance discovered opportunities to place scientific culture and its challenges at the heart of their initiatives. It was also an opportunity to introduce them to La Rotonde’s initiatives.
