On June 18, the Fondation Mines-Télécom recognized the talents of the Institut Mines-Telecom schools for their end-of-study internships and apprenticeships. Two students from the School were rewarded for their excellence.

In the Internships category, Flavie Morel received the 3rd prize for her work on optimizing patient flow at the Hospices Civils de Lyon. More specifically, she focused on medical regulation within the surgical platform. Flavie is now a graduate and works as an operating suite performance project engineer at the Hôpital de la Croix-Rousse. For her, “healthcare engineering is above all a human adventure and a collective challenge in the service of care.”

In the Apprenticeship category, Sylvain Thomas received the 2nd prize for his work at STMicroelectronics. For him, “innovation is not limited to technology,” and his two apprenticeship missions were an illustration of this:

  • The development of a FabLab for the company’s 1,500 employees. A collaborative digital manufacturing space for creating prototypes.
  • Numerical modeling of semiconductor components in order to integrate them into a high-level simulation.

We congratulate Flavie and Sylvain, as well as the other winners of the Fondation Mines-Télécom Awards. Worth between 750 and 2,500 euros, this award will allow our young graduates to consider new innovative projects.
