Mines Saint-Etienne is a school committed to sustainable development. Every day, we work to meet the various Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN, which provide the roadmap for a better future.
As part of this approach, our school has participated in the Climate Fresk for 6 years. This has become an essential event that brings together all first-year students (ISMIN and ICM) to complete the Climate Fresk.
This year, 213 ICM students participated in the workshop, supervised by 16 facilitators, including research professors, administrative staff, doctoral students, and interns from Mines Saint-Etienne. Three hours of collaboration and discussion took place to better understand the scale and complexity of the challenges related to climate change. This was also an opportunity to introduce the Climate, Environment, and Sustainable Development course to the first-year programme for future engineers.
In parallel with the Fresk, other students attended a carbon impact awareness workshop. The 2Tonnes Workshop offers a quantified simulation for a low-carbon transition (based on one’s own carbon footprint), providing a systemic view of environmental and social issues.
We congratulate and thank all participants in the Climate Fresk. We look forward to seeing the ISMIN students on March 2 at the Aix-Marseille-Provence campus to complete their own workshop.
