First-year ICM students were in the spotlight on February 19 with the presentation of civic projects and participation in the annual EY competition.
Four prizes and a special mention were awarded to teams for successfully carrying out their solidarity, eco-citizen, or scientific initiatives.

The quality of the presentations was once again highlighted by the jury composed of Jérôme Chirat and Charly Jucquin, project management instructors, and two engineers from EY: Romain Muscat (ICM E 2011) and Arnaud Delaunay (ICM E 2014).
The purpose of this EY Competition is to introduce students to a communication exercise: each team had 5 minutes to present their project and make their case to the jury to receive the funding necessary for its implementation.

The 1st prize of €800 goes to “Mines Collex“: a project to showcase the mineralogical collection of the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne. “So that our collection does not fall into oblivion! Will you save it?”

The 2nd prize of €500 is awarded to “Sciences et transmission (s)”: to inspire and foster the desire to learn, the scientific outreach project for students in priority areas must continue!

The project “Comment acquiert-on la nationalité Française?” receives the 3rd prize of €400. It involves creating a digital tool to inform members of the Globe 42 association (a space for popular education and community health) and assist them with their administrative procedures.

The 4th prize (€300) rewards the project “Fauriel fait son adolescience“: interventions with students at Claude Fauriel middle school for the design and organization of a science fair through several stands.

A special mention is given to the Rainwater Recovery for Urban Agriculture Projects: “we can recover no less than 50,000 liters annually if the project is developed at the municipal level.”

Our congratulations go to the award-winning teams and to all students for their participation in this competition. Thanks to EY and the jury members.
