This themed day was held at the Centre of Microelectronics in Provence (CMP) on Thursday, September 28, 2023. It gathered 200 participants, including nearly 60 industry professionals and institutional representatives.

The event brought together the academic, industrial, and governmental communities. Its primary objective was to foster new collaborations, particularly by aiming to design:

  • Fault injection tools and fault models,
  • Simulation tools and methods to evaluate robustness and understand the impact of faults,
  • Security proofs,
  • Hardware or software protections or detection mechanisms,
  • Tools automating the design of robust embedded systems.

Presentations, talks, and discussions punctuated this instructive and collaborative event.

As a reminder, fault injection attacks are a technique often exploited by attackers to extract confidential data from embedded systems. These attacks are becoming increasingly frequent, complex, and difficult to detect.

The day was organized by the Secure Systems and Architectures department of the CMP with the support of the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne and the Institut Mines-Télécom.
