The start-up draws on the expertise of the Centre of Microelectronics in Provence to develop low-voltage electronics that embed AI into its sensors. A spin-off of the Singaporean company Remedial Performance—a firm specializing in automation and instrumentation tools for the oil and gas industry—Edge Technologies designs intelligent sensors for the industrial IoT.

The project is jointly supported by Team@Mines Saint-Étienne and Provence Promotion.

The design office based at Mines Saint-Étienne on the GC Provence campus was founded by Thomas Guillet and Jean-Francois Farges in July 2019.
Edge Technologies targets a high-value-added niche market and relies on the expertise of the Flexible Electronics Department and ID-Fab activities for the development phase.

The start-up aims to offer a complete range of ultra-low-power measurement sensors: information processing is carried out at the sensor level before communication to a platform, in order to limit the bandwidth required for data transfer.
