Since the beginning of the year, a consortium of consulting firms composed of architects, landscape architects, and programmers has been commissioned to revisit the 2014 master plan.

This major new initiative aims to plan renovation work for the historic Mines Saint-Étienne site located at 158 cours Fauriel. It is being conducted under the responsibility of the EMSE Department of Property and General Resources as well as the Lyon-Saint-Étienne ComUE.

The team has already surveyed the site to examine it from every angle. They have also contacted several of you to better understand how the site functions and is used.

Following this initial phase of assessment and needs analysis, four collaborative workshops are planned. You are invited to contribute, regardless of your profile. The goal is to form multidisciplinary groups to cross-reference perspectives and enrich the discussion.

The workshop themes are as follows:

  • student life / campus life
  • partnerships (campus attractiveness)
  • education
  • Research

For each theme, an initial session will take place on May 14 and 15, 2024. It will focus on developing a shared assessment. The second session, scheduled for early July, will present and share the consortium’s initial proposals.

All workshops will take place at Maison du Parc, 158 cours Fauriel, Saint-Étienne.
