An escape game took place on Thursday, 14 December 2023, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Carrefour de l’Innovation premises in Aix-en-Provence. The aim was to step into the shoes of a young entrepreneur launching a video game business for eight hours straight.
Back after a one-year absence, the “8h chrono” event was organised by Mines Saint-Étienne and hosted by the Belle de Mai incubator.
It brought together around sixty students from Mines Saint-Étienne’s ISMIN programme, from one of the higher education institutions that are members of Pépite Provence (Student Hub for Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship), or from the Regional Conference of Grandes Écoles, the CRGE.
Divided into twelve mixed, multidisciplinary teams—including one made up exclusively of entrepreneurship lecturers—the participants discovered and tested the different stages of creating a company through an immersive escape game set in the world of retrogaming.
The collaborative work carried out by the various groups was full of twists and turns, exchanges and surprises.
After eight hours of reflection, numerous prototypes of varying success, and several oral presentations, the jury reviewed the different projects and delivered its verdict:
THE GOLDEN CHRONO
Team No. 11 (Barnat Alaa, Leignel Quentin, Abdul Bilal, Teste Josselin and Sartout Safae) with the game KRAKEN SLAYER : “Clean up the oceans and take on a fearsome kraken as an eco-responsible pirate in this gripping shooter where collecting waste increases your power.”
Each team member won a €30 gift voucher.
THE JURY’S FAVOURITE
Team No. 7 (Guez Daniel, El Jazouli Aya, Cassaing Lexane, Gsouma Nermine, Elafani Maïssa and Morucci Mathieu) with the game ARTIC DEFENDER : “A thrilling adventure that plunges players into the heart of the Arctic ice pack. Playing as a brave, fearless teenager riding a majestic polar bear, players must protect their natural habitat by taking on polluting oil tankers. “
