The Saint-Étienne campus, located on Cours Fauriel, will be exceptionally open to the general public on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This open house will be an opportunity to discover or rediscover Mines Saint-Étienne for staff members and their families, alumni, retirees, students, partners, elected officials, and local residents.
Jacques Fayolle, its director, will kick off the festivities. He will speak three times to present the institution, its programs of excellence, and its major strategic directions (at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 3:00 PM).
Numerous and varied activities will also punctuate the day

- Route 1: Melting furnace, WAAM, and Scanning electron microscopy

- Roc en stock: tour of the School of Mines geology collections (duration: 45 min.)
- Tour of the school’s heritage (duration: 50 min.)
- Laboratory tours (duration: 1 hour)
Open access
- Thematic lectures:
- Demystifying AI (12:00 PM to 12:30 PM),
- Learning to respect planetary boundaries (2:30 PM to 3:00 PM),
- Tomorrow’s healthcare (11:00 AM to 11:30 AM),
- New challenges for responsible industry (3:30 PM to 4:00 PM).
- Booths presenting teaching and research activities, corporate partnerships, student associations, and the alumni network.
- At La Soucoupe: presentation of La Rotonde, the science culture center; workshops for children: numeration from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and interactive workshop / science carts from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
