It opened its doors on Monday, June 3, in premises located at the Maison des Élèves. Its creation meets the needs of students at the Gardanne site who are experiencing difficulties in eating properly on a daily basis.
For the first time, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Campus has its own solidarity grocery store.
It provides free of charge non-perishable food items and hygiene products to students at the school who are in a situation of financial hardship.
Distribution of the parcels is carried out by volunteer members of the Solidar’ISMIN association. It is done anonymously and without an appointment.
The grocery store opens once a week, on Mondays, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The products come from the Gardanne branch of Secours Catholique.
In a testing phase during the month of June, it will be closed in July and August. It is scheduled to reopen next September at the start of the academic year.
As a reminder, a solidarity grocery store (Off Courses) opened its doors in March 2023 in Saint-Étienne.
