Biography

Sophie Peillon is gra­dua­ted from Mines Saint‐​Etienne and Université Jean Monnet – Saint‐​Etienne (Ph.D.) and from Université Lyon 2 (Master).

She is an Associate Professor in Economics and Management at Mines Saint‐​Etienne since 2004. She is cur­rent­ly in charge of the Major in Management and Corporate Finance in the ICM cur­ri­cu­lum.
Her research focuses on inno­va­tion and dyna­mic capa­bi­li­ties through product‐​service sys­tems, ser­vi­ti­sa­tion and func­tio­nal ser­vice eco­no­my, with a par­ti­cu­lar focus on manu­fac­tu­ring sec­tor and SMEs. She has publi­shed seve­ral papers rela­ted to these topics in Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management, Journal of Service Management, Production Planning & Control, and is a refe­ree for seve­ral jour­nals such as International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management, Production Planning & Control, Revue Française de Gestion, Revue Internationale PME, …

She regu­lar­ly par­ti­ci­pates in fun­ded research pro­jects in col­la­bo­ra­tion with com­pa­nies in the manu­fac­tu­ring sec­tor, either SMEs or large firms, and she is invol­ved in seve­ral pro­fes­sio­nal and scien­ti­fic net­works (Viameca, Club CLEF, Association Internationale de Management Stratégique, …).

Recently, she has been a visi­ting pro­fes­sor at McGill University – Desautels Faculty of Management, and Center for Strategy Studies in Organizations, Montréal, Canada.
