Cela s\u2019explique par la redistribution intermittente et complexe des dislocations, d\u00e9fauts lin\u00e9iques responsables de la d\u00e9formation irr\u00e9versible des mat\u00e9riaux cristallins, induite par un chargement m\u00e9canique. Ces d\u00e9fauts sont la cause de la formation de \u00ab&nbsp;marches d\u2019escalier&nbsp;\u00bb en surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour \u00e9tudier plus en d\u00e9tail ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne, des groupes de recherche de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd de Budapest, de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 Charles de Prague et de Mines Saint-\u00c9tienne (Laboratoire Georges Friedel UMR5307 CNRS) ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une plateforme d\u2019essais microm\u00e9caniques ultra-sensible permettant la d\u00e9tection de faibles ondes \u00e9lastiques \u00e9mises pendant la d\u00e9formation de piliers microniques. Des exp\u00e9riences de compression effectu\u00e9es sur de tels micropiliers monocristallins de zinc dans un microscope \u00e9lectronique \u00e0 balayage ont confirm\u00e9 la corr\u00e9lation entre ces soi-disant signaux acoustiques et l\u2019\u00e9volution saccad\u00e9e de la d\u00e9formation sous forme de \u00ab&nbsp;rafales&nbsp;\u00bb.
